Two long weekends in a row…
Last weekend was a bit of a long weekend. Jobs down in Atlanta, and then we left at 6am to be part of the Louisville Merle Haggard Tribute. That was a really fun gig, despite how I came scrambling in last minute. I got to play with a couple of really quality pickers (including Steve Cooley and Michael Cleveland) and I saw a lot of friends that I haven’t seen in a while. New Album Out!
I’m really happy to announce my new album, now available on google play! I’ve had this idea for a while, to track some of the solo piano arrangements that I use in my day to day jobs. I sometimes get calls for weddings, private parties, restaurants or other venues where they say “just make it nice!” When I get those calls, I love it because it lets me just sit down and play. It’s one of the rare times that I can just imagine and things happen – that’s a pretty wonderful feeling. I’m not entirely sure what is going to end up here, though I have some ideas about things that I think are interesting enough to be worth documenting. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve gotten into a couple of projects, so I’ll probably include those, like dealing with a dead/dying stage piano, selling gear online, and trying out some new gear. I’ll also likely have some thoughts on being a working musician, and I’d like to get some lessons in here as well. I’m not very good at taking videos, but I will try to take a lot of pictures to make up for it. Hopefully I’ll get some…
